Kayla talked about her personal struggles with being a student and how that helps her connect to her students. At an early age, Kayla fell in love with learning and soon knew her path would be to become a teacher. Although many students know what it is like to be at school as students, not all know what kind of work it takes behind the scenes to ensure that the curriculum is delivered in an effective and innovative fashion. Reeder Elementary participated in the Little Steps, Big Impact program, which is a public awareness and education campaign that specifically informs students about ground level ozone. Coming from a small town, Kayla went to California State University Stanislaus where she studied Liberal Arts and received her multiple subject credentials. Kayla Reeder grew up knowing she wanted to be a teacher.
